Clear skin isn't luck.
It's the right treatment
for the right cause.

Acne that doesn't fully respond to products usually needs something that goes deeper — clinical exfoliation, targeted extraction, and anti-inflammatory treatment at the pore level. At Le Sommet we identify what's driving your breakouts and choose the approach that actually addresses it.

Why Acne Persists

Why Products Alone Often Aren't Enough

Acne forms when pores become blocked with sebum, dead cells, and bacteria — triggering inflammation and the breakouts that follow. Most at-home products address the skin's surface. Clinical treatments reach the pore itself.

The three primary clinical approaches work on different parts of the problem: Extraction physically removes the blockage. Chemical exfoliation dissolves the debris and dead cells contributing to congestion. Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory treatments reduce the microbial load and calm the tissue.

Most persistent acne benefits from a combination of these. We assess your skin's specific pattern — whether it's primarily congestion, active breakouts, hormonal flares, or post-inflammatory marks — and build a treatment approach around that, not around a standard protocol.

What Clinical Treatment Reaches

How We Treat It

Clinical Acne Treatments at Le Sommet

Extraction + Clarifying · No Downtime
HydraFacial™ with Clarifying Booster

The HydraFacial's vortex extraction step removes congestion from pores more thoroughly and comfortably than any manual extraction — without squeezing, pressure, or post-treatment redness. The clarifying booster delivers salicylic acid, niacinamide, and clarifying botanicals directly into freshly opened pores. Combined, they address the two primary drivers of acne: congestion and bacteria. Immediate results, zero downtime. Works as both a standalone treatment and as monthly maintenance.

Clarifying Chemical Peel

A targeted salicylic acid peel that penetrates deeply into the pore lining, dissolves excess sebum and debris, and provides anti-inflammatory benefit to calm active breakouts. Some clients experience 1–3 days of light flaking. Produces a level of pore clearing and surface renewal that home exfoliants cannot match. Particularly effective for oily skin, chronic congestion, and post-acne pigmentation that doesn't fully respond to daily skincare.

Questions

Common Questions

Can I get a facial if I have active breakouts?+
Yes — and for most acne-prone clients, professional treatment during active breakouts is more beneficial than waiting. The HydraFacial and Clarifying Peel specifically are designed to address active congestion. What we avoid during active, inflamed breakouts is aggressive manual extraction or treatments that could spread bacteria. We assess your skin at your appointment and adjust the approach based on what we see — we will never perform a treatment that we believe will worsen your condition.
How often should I come in for acne treatment?+
For active acne, monthly appointments are the standard starting cadence — aligning with the skin's natural cell turnover cycle. Clients with more significant or persistent acne may benefit from bi-weekly sessions for the first month or two. As your skin clears and stabilizes, we transition to monthly maintenance. We discuss the recommended cadence at your first appointment based on your skin's specific presentation.
I'm on prescription acne medication. Can I still receive treatment?+
It depends on the medication. Topical retinoids: stop 3–5 days before any peel or exfoliating treatment. Oral antibiotics: generally compatible with all treatments. Spironolactone, birth control for acne: compatible with all treatments. Accutane (isotretinoin): a 6-month waiting period is required before any peel or exfoliating treatment. Always tell us exactly what you're taking at your consultation so we can select the right approach.
