Liesl has spent her entire life watching people encounter her name on a form, pause, and then attempt it with the energy of someone defusing a bomb. She knows the look. She knows the hesitation. She has extended grace on this matter for decades.
So when it came time to name the practice, and Jared suggested something in French that would require a small tutorial for most people — Liesl was, if not sympathetic, at least experienced. She fought for this name. Hard.
The fact that her own name also has more than one accepted pronunciation — and that you may have just learned this from a pronunciation guide — is not lost on anyone. It does, however, make her the most qualified person in any room to insist that struggling with a name is simply part of the journey.
