Urinary incontinence — leaking when you laugh, sneeze, cough, jump, or feel a sudden urge to go — is one of the most common and most undertreated conditions in women's health. At Le Sommet, we treat it without surgery, without medication, and without you even having to change out of your clothes.

What's Happening

Incontinence Is a Muscle Problem — and Muscles Can Be Rebuilt

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles — and like any other muscles, they can weaken. Pregnancy, childbirth, hormonal changes at menopause, and the simple passage of time all reduce pelvic floor strength and neuromuscular coordination. When these muscles aren't doing their job, the bladder loses support — and leakage follows.

Stress incontinence — leaking during physical activity or pressure — is the most common type and is directly caused by pelvic floor weakness. Urge incontinence — the sudden, hard-to-suppress need to go — involves disrupted neuromuscular control. Many women have both.

Kegel exercises help, but most people do them incorrectly and they only engage a portion of the pelvic floor. EMSELLA® delivers 11,200 supramaximal contractions per session — engaging the entire pelvic floor musculature at a depth and intensity no voluntary exercise can reach. It's the same approach, at a scale that actually changes things.

How We Treat It

Non-Surgical Pelvic Floor Restoration

Primary Treatment · FDA-Cleared
EMSELLA® Pelvic Floor Therapy

EMSELLA® uses High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology delivered through a specially designed chair to stimulate supramaximal pelvic floor contractions — fully clothed, zero internal components, 28 minutes per session. The recommended course is 6 sessions over 3 weeks, twice per week. This is the protocol tested in clinical trials. Most patients begin noticing improvement within the first few sessions. No surgery. No medication. No changing out of your clothes.

Women's Combination Program
Core to Floor™

For postpartum women, menopausal women, and anyone dealing with both pelvic floor weakness and core instability together — Core to Floor combines EMSELLA® with EMSCULPT NEO® core rebuilding in a structured, sequenced program. The pelvic floor and core work as one system; addressing both together produces outcomes neither treatment achieves independently. Most appropriate for women with incontinence plus diastasis recti, back pain, or significant core weakness.

Questions

Common Questions

Is the treatment really fully clothed? Nothing is internal?+
Yes — completely. You sit in the EMSELLA® chair exactly as you arrive. No changing, no gown, no internal applicators, no physical contact beyond the chair itself. The electromagnetic field passes through your clothing and tissue to stimulate the pelvic floor. This is fundamental to why patients find the treatment accessible — it removes every barrier of vulnerability from the experience.
How quickly will I notice improvement?+
Many patients notice improvement after their first or second session — a reduction in leakage frequency or improved urgency control. The most significant results develop across and after the full 6-session course, with peak improvement typically occurring several weeks after the final session as pelvic floor strengthening consolidates. Clinical studies show maintained results at 6 months post-treatment for most patients.
I have an IUD. Can I still have EMSELLA® treatment?+
This is one of the most common questions we receive. The answer depends on the specific device type. Hormonal IUDs (plastic) are generally compatible with EMSELLA®. Copper IUDs require careful review. Please bring your IUD information — device name, insertion date — to your consultation and we will review it before proceeding. We will not perform EMSELLA® treatment without confirming your device compatibility first.
Should I tell my gynecologist I'm doing this?+
Yes, and we encourage it. EMSELLA® is a complementary treatment that works well alongside care from your gynecologist or urogynecologist — it is not a replacement for your medical provider. If you're already working with a specialist on incontinence, EMSELLA® can meaningfully enhance your overall care plan. We are happy to provide documentation of your treatment if your provider would like it.
