What microneedling does

The device creates controlled microchannels in the skin to stimulate a healing response and collagen remodeling. This is different from a surface facial: results develop over time, and treatment planning considers your skin, concern and recovery needs.

What adding PRP involves

Platelet-rich plasma is prepared from a sample of your own blood using a centrifuge. Le Sommet's menu includes microneedling with PRP, sometimes called a Vampire Facial. Ask how it is prepared and used, what benefit is expected for your concern, and how it changes the visit. PRP is not automatically necessary for every person choosing microneedling.

Read our microneedling with PRP versus microneedling alone guide to compare evidence, preparation and recovery.

Concerns to discuss

  • Acne scars and uneven texture
  • Fine lines and changes in firmness
  • Visible pores and uneven tone
  • Stretch marks or fully healed surgical and injury scars

Discuss your face, neck or other areas of concern at consultation. The treatment area, device instructions and individual assessment determine the plan; not every application has the same evidence or recovery.

Your visit, step by step

Consultation and preparation

Review your skin, treatment history, products and whether adding PRP would benefit you. Discuss active acne, cold sores, rashes or wounds, recent isotretinoin use, pregnancy or breastfeeding, clotting disorders, anticoagulants and a history of keloid scarring. PRP adds its own blood-related screening. Do not change prescription medication without your clinician's direction.

Arrive with clean skin and follow the preparation instructions given for your appointment, including which active skincare products to pause.

Treatment day

The visit allows approximately 20–30 minutes for topical numbing before the treatment pass. SkinPen uses a sterile, single-use needle cartridge. If PRP is selected, a blood draw and centrifuge preparation are included in the visit. Confirm the total booking time for your treatment area and options.

Recovery and follow-up

Temporary redness and sensitivity can follow treatment, commonly over the first 24–72 hours. The practice's aftercare includes SkinPen Rescue Calming Complex and a biocellulose mask. Follow the supplied cleansing, moisturizing, sun-protection and makeup instructions rather than applying your usual active products immediately.

The practice advises avoiding makeup initially and pausing exfoliating or other active products during the early healing window. Confirm your specific instructions before leaving and know whom to contact about unexpected symptoms.

Common questions

How many sessions will I need?

The practice describes a series of three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, with the number chosen around your concern and response. Collagen remodeling develops over weeks to months. Ask when progress will be reviewed and whether maintenance belongs in your plan.

Is PRP the same as filler?

No. PRP preparation and microneedling differ from injectable volume treatments. Explore fillers, biostimulators and PRF if your goal is volume rather than texture.

Can I combine treatments?

Discuss timing with your provider before combining microneedling with injectables, EMFACE or other skin treatments. A sequenced calendar allows recovery between procedures.

What if I mainly want a skin refresh?

Compare HydraFacial and the skin treatment menu. Ask about treatment intensity, recovery and the concern each option addresses.
